Amorphis - Queen of Time (2018)

English version

Amorphis is a band with a solid and consistent career through its more than 25 years of career, they have not released a bad album and Queen of Time is no exception, following the line of Under the Red Cloud but with a musical horizon wider, the band puts all the meat in the spit, the disc flows through a variety of sounds, Melodic Death, Folk, Progressive, Oriental Epic, Acoustic and Symphonic all amalgamated in a very homogeneous set, it is amazing as the compositional ability has not diminished over time, but rather it continues to be re-empowered, each of the themes has its own in terms of creativity, quality of interpretation, sound and power, themes such as Message in the Amber, The Golden Elk, Heart of the Giant , The Accursed, as well as singles, The Bee, Wrong Direction or Among Stars are the most prominent of the album, this does not mean that others are bad, but rather are my preferences, among other topics to highlight we have the return of the saxophone, operatic choirs and orchestral sounds, as well as two luxury guests, Anneke Van Giersbergen and Chrigel Glanzmann from Eliveitie on the flutes.
The band gives us a masterful interpretation with the characteristic melodic sound, each musician impeccable as always, and I am struck by Tomi Joutsen's voice, which is more versatile and powerful than ever, in summary a great album by a band that is already unclassifiable as far as sound is concerned, and that a long time ago enter in  the history of metal
